ok so im siting in a dark corner of a ciber shop with diareehea baely in my pants and <i habe like 0 time so i{m just gonna send this. hopefully i can scribble out a group email too. I am in Santiago Texacuangos- the middle of the jungle. I freaking love it and i do}t know if my stuff will upload but I sure hope so. I{m gonna start w the bad and end w the good. So three days in I wake up and start praying and just shread a pair of garments w crap. I throw them awy and just keep going thru the day, i threw up 6 or 7 times and crapped everywhere I could straight liquid. I got a blessing that night. Next morning it just kept getting worse so we called the nurse and I had a 103 fever but I felt ok. so we went out, a neighbor helped me do a poop test-don{t ask haha. Eventually the officie elders came and picked me up and we went to the hospital. I have a parasite. So they loaded me up w meds and gave me a butt injection. I feel much better now and am hapy to say I even had a solid bm. I don{t want you to worry tho, they take good care of us and I feel good, healthy and safe. 

There is so much good tho idk where to starat. Myy comp is Elder Ortega from Nicaragua and he is apparently very funny. I really don{t understand humor down here it kinda bums me out but whatever i have a good time w things and he is nice to  me. he eats like a freaking monster tho. only hands and shoves it all in his mouth. its hard to watch haha but I love the guy and we are teaching each other our languages. The people here are so sweet and awesome. I have so many stories that make me cry already, just the humility and struggles of these peope. Sadly they are also known for being very lazy and lovvvvve o talk. Non stop lol its hard. Our area is traditionally one w very litle success. us and another area form a rama not even a ward so its a struggle and church is far. but i love it. I can{t spak very well but its funny when I{m in a lesson and sharing something i{m legit close to fluent. outside of hat its very hard. my companion noticed that the other day and told me. 

People here also hate america, and its gotten me in some tough spots, couple guys yelling at me as I walk and i lessons I{ve gotten roasted a ll haha but I always just tell them, there is a lot of bad tyhings in the word, and I am from a place with a lot of bad. But I do not represent The US I represent christ and through him we can find peace and comfort. the rumors here would blow your mind haha they think we have chips implanted in our brains by satan, that we dig "fire lake" to other dimensions, and that I started some wars in Africa. eah idk. Anways I have so many more stories and everything bu I{m keeping a journal so i will share more in a couple years. Its hard out here, im sweating constantly even tho it ains evry other hour and 2 years seems so long.  i am determned to make a change in this area tho. I know con fe its possible. I miss you both so much. I love you and I love love love hearing about home. I am praying for you constantly, please keep me in your prayers. And pray for he people down here to open up to this message.

Arrival Day: September 17, 2018

I´m here and it is very difficult to type on this computer but it is just amazing here. <i absolutly love it. <theres just jungle and dogs and cocunuts everywhere its amazing. I meet the president tmrw but for now we are just kinda kicking it in the mission home. And get this, I walk in and the first thing I get asked is, did your grandpa serve here? And I´m like yeah, and they go yeh he baptized this one family down here and blah blah blah. anyways idk how they knew but grandpa is famous, you should let him know. the AP is from oceanside too so thats kinda cool. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that we are alive and well. We have already seen a buncha shotguns and AKs but that was mainly just cops so we good. Its so amazing here! surreal. I am so so so sopumped and can´t wait for wed when we head out. It was great talking to you! my pday is monday btw.

Week of September 15, 2018

Hey Mom,  

sorry i always start new ones and don't always respond to stuff, these things are confusing and I don't usually have a lotta time so yeah. Plus we got up at 5:45 to do laudry and pack  so today will be crazy fo sho. But thank you for the package and for everything! I love and miss you. One problem tho... I forgot to get a phone card and the MTC store apparently has been closed and will be closed for a while, outta nowhere. Ima talk to the front desk, Elder Warners sister may bring us burner phones worst case, let me know what I should do, I'm so sorry. I mean I know it'll work out there but still. Everyone here got these burner phones from back hame and like its bad, they are touch screen with apps and yeah... so thats been bad, noone has done anything bad that I know of its just like not a good thing to have around. granted every other missionary here has a phone and all lol but yeah. No things have been good, I had this weird like fluid buildup in my nose, kinda like a zit but not and just swollen and fat. So I squeezed and stuff was there but i couldn't get the main stuff. So we got a needle and did a lil MTC surgury. Basically thats why my nose is bloody and stuff. It isnt bad at all, in fact my nose feels so much better, I just have a fat scab. And everyone calls me Rudolph now, thats fun haha. Things are good here, people finally trust me and I have had a lot of people kinda come talk to me and tell me struggles and stuff. Its been kinda hard knowing what to say but I have a stroong testimony of the ability of the spirit to fill your mouth. the Seagull kid was made our new DL after I left and he has been NUTS. He set the MTC wall sit record like a month ago and uses every chance he gets to brag. That and he like tells everyone he thinks they're idiots and even called his companion an embarasaro to the zone. (He ony speaks Spanish but isn't quite there yet) So that was funny. But its cool. One guy broke his toe on a door. SOme people got reassigned but then re res assigned so we all good. Also, the new district that we are in charge of is going to TJ! so look out for them, they are an interesting bunch. One of them looks like an emo, scrawny, scary Ethan and talks about how he likes red meat and "nerd" stuff. Its a good time here at the MTC. Anyways I'll be back later, I have a LOT to do today so I'll fill in any blanks. 

I'm glad to hear you and Dad are staying busy, enjoying that old peoppel lyfe haha, I'm sure you're making the best of it. I like the glasses and all the stories, keep them coming. and keep fabric shopping and stuff always be you. haha I kid. But I love you and will talk to you in a lil. Remind me what I am forgetting!

haha ok it will all work out I'm sure. My clothes are drying and then like I'm just gonna go HAM on the packing. 

Some people in our zone, not district, didnt get the visas and stuff so like they got reassigned, but almost all got them in time.

dr. dalgleish ( this is your sons doctor speaking luckily the nose procedure went well (ish ) due to my supply of wich hazel and of course the thousand Island dressing . I believe he will heal in approximatley 3 months. HE will survive and thrive ( possibly) through this grand affliction and test of faith) 

That was Elder dalgleish, he was vital in the proceddings. 

As for Ben and Nacho no, I was fine, there were cops everywhere we think they were looking for them, but no noone really knows what happened and i'm fine. Mad at them but fine. And yeah I think meeting up might be a lil hard but thank you I will try to remeber to write that down haha.

I either said, " ITS LINEN DAY BABY" or "ITS A GREAT DAY TO BE A MISSIONARY" I don't remember. half the zone thinks I stayed there all night, we rigged a lil fake thing the next morning. I actually just slept normally. And one of the Elders had a heck ton of duct tape so yeah, it was a blast lol.

Canker sores yeah but I don't even care. I brush like 3 times a day cuz the food is so bad. My nose and stomach are the only things and they aren't even bad so like its coolin.

eah so all my bags are like 99% packed I just have books aand like toothbrush left. Kinda sad haha just packing it all up. I am 10 and 5 pounds under luckily so I should have room for everything, and thats not even counting my carry-on/personal item. So ima be aight. I packed extra Gs, extra shirt/pants, and a buncha shoes in there. So it'll be fine. I think. Hopefully it all works out tn.  

Please get a dog!! Yes!! and name it like Teancum or something sick and utah like. 

So yeah I sent an email, pics on the drive and on photos, so be on the lookout. And yeah idk everything just fits lol. maybe I have something hiding somewhere.

Dude, thats insane. I can't believe they won. Thats just wow. someone looked up stats and they coulfd be ranked! too bad that they get good when I leave.  

Idk if I'm reDY haha. I still have to plan sacrament and preiesthood lessons for tmrw. So yeah lot left to do. And sayig goodbye to my teachers tonite. thats sad.

My spanish isn't good lol. We had a language assement and the question was what will you do teaching the first lesson after you get there, and I said, "Francamente, no hablare nada porque yo no se espanol" 

Testimony yeah, and I have like 5 mini talks I can give that are coolish. Gotta write another tonite in case I need to speak tmrw.

As far as tenses go I'm good, I can do futuro, preterito, imperfecto, conditional, subjunctive, yeah thats ok, its the other stuff and the vocab that kills me. 

But yeah thats true, theres really only one cool one, kinda 2. I think we set a record for number of teachers at the MTC.

Yeah that was funny haha we are pretty energetic, but its such a solid district its fr crazy. We just didn't have a second teacher so it was Gilman and a rotation of others pretty cool. 

and yes/no. If I get a local I can't say como se dice. which will be fun

Week of September 8, 2018

Hey fam, 

Awesome week this week. I go to my weekly DL meeting at like 6:50 and while I'm there President is all like this is the last time here for some of you, either because you're leaving or because you'll be released- and looks directly at me and smiles. So I sit down for sacrament meeting later and Elder Warner goes, Is it us? and I'm like nah man I'm 100% sure it isn't. 5 seconds later he calls us outside. SO that was fun. It's been pretty coolin tho, I like this 10x more than DL. Theres no petty stuff. I have had to break up some fights, stop some triplr bunking, etc. But its fun I like the responsibility. First thing we did as ZLs tho was make something fun for everyday.

Monday- PJ monday (for exersize) and Red tie, Grey pants Monday

Tuesday- Sweater Tuesday (and hang a sheet over your door at night to prepare)

Wedensday- LINEN DAY (and leave food outside someone's door to prepare)

Thursday- Family Dinner Day ( eat together, testimony meeting at night, swap names to prepare)

Friday- WHITE ELEPHNAT FRIDAY ( everyone meets in the door after class at night and we go around and announce the gift for our person, which they must carry all p-day)

I gave my elder a crutch. Things have been cool it's helped the days go by fast and our Zone is way closer than most. It will be hard to say goodbye. Theres a tradition here of items that get passed down and our room is stacked cuz everyone likes us. We have a lot to pass down. I'll upload a video later. 

Classes have been cool and easy, we got a new teacher who just started teaching this week and thats been awful but its ok. We are still learning a lot and Hermano Gilman is fr the GOAT. My spanish is coming ok, it just takes time to conjugate in my head and that is frustrtaing. Learning a lot about the gospel too. I bought a new cheap BOM and I'm marking it up, going real slow, with a question. That and Jesus the Christ have helped a lot.

How is Brandon tho? How are you 2? Also for the airport what do you want I should do? burner phone? card thing? lmk

Hey all. To prepare meant to prepare for the next day, like put food out to prepare for family dinner day. The sweater is some other elders sweater its not a big deal I just wanted to keep yall guessin.  

And yeah I got ur email, its hard to respond to eveerything cuz I have a lot to do and I only get bursts of time in the lab but I'm trying. Thanks for the update, but like how is Brandon doing? like are the procedures ok? 

And there are 6 districts in my zone. All have 10-12 except for one group who leaves tmrw, they have 4 cuz someone just went home and they are a mess. We've had a lot of stuff to deal with this week lol, phone ringing off the hook. And I know about the shoes it was only for a photo shoot. Everyone is spanish speaking yes. There are 8/12 from my district on my flights so it will be ok we will all be togther. Should be pretty cool.

I'm happy to  hear about Brandon tho. My entire branch presidency is doctors, and I was talking to one of them about cancer, he said testicular cancer is usually the most beatable and that its even possible for a full recovery and to have kids. I don't think he really understoodd the situation but its ok. I'm realllyy happy tho tell him I said hey, and whats shakin bacon, and not to flirt with any nurses. That boy has game.

Prolly just gonna keep breaking up fights and answerng phone calls its way fun and I'm reallly loving the mission life. Kinda feel like I've been prepping for this my whole life. Thank you both for that. I know i didint always have the best atitude about things.

and yeah hopefully she is out soon, everyone knows who she is, she crazy. its cool tho We've seen her comp crying in the halls and her taking a nap on a bench in the middle of campus alone. Among other things that I don't have words to explain. contact is limited tho. I think she has said hi once this week, I stay in the shadows.

Its scary tho bc sometimes its like something happrened to someones fam. its freaky. Last night we got a call right in the middle of White Elephant Friday. Very distarcting stuff. Our ringtones are killer tho. Everything on there is blocked but we found a backdoor way to set our voices as the ringtones and alarm sounds haha

Hey sorry I was at the temple, thats good tho yall are in my prayers. 

Theres a lot who don't know yet, some BYUI and some BYU. I'm not real real close w the BYU guys tho and most have already done a year. I am def one of the goofier ones, there are some much crazier tho we have a ood time but I keep it serious when it needs to be. Warner isn't serious per say just not as energetic as me. He goes to bed very early and sleeps alot. He also eats very healthy. Spiritually we are very similar, hes also super smart, he got a 34 on his ACT. He just really loves his girl and constantly looks at pics/vids. We fit pretty good, especially as ZLs i think. 

I'm glad tho it sounds like life without me isn't as bad as you thought haha, stay shopping lol. I could use another T shirt I guess. Good for Hyrum and Ray tho. Nacho just sent me an email saying they were coming today but I'm gonna do all I can to avoid them. I'll make sure I do.

Week of September 1, 2018

hey guys, 

its been a pretty rough week, I've been praying and fasting a lot for Brandon. My comp is a G tho and after I told him what was happening he decided to fast too. So its been kinda tough, kinda hard to focus sometimes but like I've been praying a whole lot and I read 3 Nephi 28:9 which helped me realize I just gotta focus on helping others, and my worldly pains will go away. And I know God's gonna take care of Brandon, he's one of his special kids. In other news, not too much happened this week, I didn't get released from DL yet. Which is pretty weird actually. But like its ok, this was a relly good week as far as like District bonding or whatever went and all our classes and activities went hecka smooth. I see Lexi everywhere, she's literally crazy and my entire district always asks questions. Me and the los dos woke up at 6 this morning to get some laundry done cuz thats just how we do things. The rest of my stories can prolly be told thru pics, but if I remmember anything I'll tell you. Whats new back home? the pics look killer I like the lights actually. Are you back together yet?

bless up. Thats good to hear about lexi lol she is fr crazy. I am still really worried about Brandon and I really hate to think of him in pain, or around doctors, and having to fight this. That just is hard to imagine. But thats me being selfish I know I gotta get over myself. It's something I've been working on these past few weeks.  

I have thrown up and had my fair share of issues but nah no infirmary trips, I'm doing well comparativly.

basically heres the layout

6:15- wake up, shower, plan, maybe baby study

7:15- Breakfast

7:45- 30 min study in the class building

8:30- 3 hour class (mostly gospel)

11:30- Lunch/getting mail for my district

12:15- 2 hour independent/companion study (plan lessons, do computer program, spanish grammar books)

2:40- 1 hour exersize time ( usually sand volleyball)

3:40-shower (cold)

4:00- 30 min study/hangout and try to speak spanish

4:45- mail run 2/dinner

5:30-45 min on the computers or in books for language

6:15- 3 hour class

9:30- get back to dorms and hangout

10:15- write in journal and get ready

10:35- sleep

'm glad to hear that. I'll try to worry less but idk, i put him on the prayer roll and ima fast again on sunday for him.  

But yeah the days run together it gets crazy honestly, can't tell them apart or what happened its brazy. We have a good time tho, its fun and we are tight. I'll get released tmrw I am sure. 

But yeah there is all kinds of people here, i've only met a few going to SD and none are English or even Spanish so thats too bad. Way cool tho, I see ppl I know all the time. Abigal Walker, freinds from EFY, some girl from our stake, apparently the edwards kid is here so yeah, its a good time. I don't throw up a lot, only twice total.

and yeas hahaha I got it the package is awesome thank you so much!! it was nice to have food from home, havent eaten any yet cuz its been crazy but thank you. And the jersey is tight tell the Araozs thanks from me.

aw thanks haha. I'm fine honestly, like this is nothing compared to the feild as far as hard goes. I just can't wait to be somewhere where I can think about someone other than myself all day long. That's not very fun but its unavoidable here. neccesary too, but unavoidable. thanks tho haha
