Week of April 15, 2019

Well I know we didnt really get too talk but its ok I cant say much on video anyways. This week was kinda tough I am not gonna lie but we are doing ok. Crazy to think I hit a year in less than 3 months but idk I have a long time left I am feelin good. I spent this week consoling crying missionaries, fighting with parents for permission, and taking the frustration of my comp. Sorry I dont wanna be negative just gotta vent real quick. On the real it was a good week. Another week in paradise hahaha I am not down or anything so mom dont freak out, and I am not sick either just wanted to brag about the gross food. hey this might be the only email I send, for sure no pics. Some other missionaries screwed me over, its a long story so I m sorry. But sounds like things are gucci. Please tell the welkers and everyone I said hey. How is devin and seirras baby? sorry I cant write more today its way wack and I am trying hard to have patience haha. but Stay killing it. did you get to make any pupusas? Your last blue and gold? why? also cant see pics

Dont know where to start like always. I wrote in my journal a few times this week. D Todd Christofferson swung by. I shook his hand. Way cool experience actually. like 500 missionaries all together way dope. All my MTC buds it was insane. We also did some fun stuff. Dug a huge hole for a dudes barthroom. It waslike 25 feet deep and we used a pick and shovel. It was nuts. Had to climb down in with a ladder, just all around crazy. Then another day we went by a members house to get those references and her water was going crazy. So I stuck my arm in a giant muddy hole thing, we tried clogging the shower, it was crazy, water everywhere. Ended up fixing it tho. Used wire, pliers and got way wet. So it was a service week. Ive also given a fat ton of blessigs which has been cool. We had a couple this week that we have been working with forever. 17 year old chick and 20 year old dude. Shes pregnant and has a 4-5 year old too. She is member. We have been going hard and finally got them to agree to marriage and baptism. Got it all set up then our lawyer tells us its a no go cuz theres a new law that 17 year olds cant get married, even with parental permission. So that really was hard. But its ok cuz they beat their dogs. Also had Familia Beltran doing work. Only 2 came to church but for now, 5 are looking good for baptism. My comp is struggling a lil, so am I lol. Just sometimes have no idea what I am doing. But I think I hit the highlights. We have been grinding non stop which is gucci. Hopefully it pays off

its actually way funny. I spent a day trying to translate aint nomountain high enough but decided I couldnt make 2 song refrences in a row. Inspiration? Yeah I think so. I made some pupusas too this week, yours actually yturned out better lol. And yeah its a lil rough but nothing out of the ordinary, thats how missions are lol. Ester turns 18 in april so we are just gonna wait. We are just  getting put on the biurners cuz we dont baptize weekly. although nobody does so its fine. I just wanna help these people, I hate being unsure and stuff. Its gucci tho, we gone make it. I ordered some custom olive green pants and got some dope new tires, hoipefully pics work soon lol. too bad about scouts, whats the new thing look like?

Hey thanks mom, Im doing good, Im living life doing fine. Its just a different world down here. And Its actually pretty cool not being the smart one or anything, I had gotten pretty prideful up in the states. But yeah I am officially at 6 months, weird honestly. Our MTC district did the math. Only 75 more pdays left. Which kind makes me sad. I used to just wanna be at 6 months so bad, now I wish I was at 3 lol. Got so much left to learn. Bishop dropped the bombshell on you dang. 6 months enjoy it. Who the freak is Brother De Real?? Pêople like that are one of the hardest things to deal with. Morgan goes in the mtc this week, crazy. Harper too comes home in APRIL thats nuts!! yall pumped?

Ma,

Hey hope everything is going swell. Im super happy to hear about Brandon!!!! That makes my dad honestly thats awesome. I dont really get any photos tho, emails here arew iffy. Did you get my pics from Elder Baloyes? Really dont have a lot to update you on, this week has been pretty chill. I love my comp he is the funnest dude to have as a comp and we have a good time. My roomates are chill they are ZLs but chill so we just chill eating pupusas, learning English and Spanish and Kaq Chiqel, and discussing deep doctrine and racism. My district has 2 of the biggest problem missionaries tho. One of them was in my district before and the other came the change before me. Its been kinda rough cuz they call me like every other hour with a new sickness or problem. But its been good to have that responsibility. Its hardd sometimes I feel the pressure of this work. ya know like all these souls are weighing on my shoulders, but thats straight pride. This is Gods work not mine. And its fun! We get creative to keep things fun. I even taught a lesson over the phone to an old investigator from an old area who is falling out. I might go back to baptize him next week. And the dude we baptized the other week is super pilas, like going to institute and prepping for a misson and we teach his family of 15 three times this week. So things are goin aight. Buncha weird people too but its cool I love it. I feel bad cuz I dont have good updates and I am not writing in my journal anymore cuz I have no time at all. But thats baasically how things are for me. I like my area, my comp, my having to wash my clothes in a bucket. We keep it 100 round here in COjutepeque. I think I even gained a lil weight. I was at like 150 last I checked. But I eat a lot here. Your week sounds fun haha, glad dads bday went good. Even if he went thru in n out inndecent. Its going by pretty fast honestly. Im pretty stressed about being a good trainer and everything so it flies. And I like the stress. How are things w you and Dad? Staying active? Staying partying? Whats the deal?

Yeah I am DL but I didnt wanna say anything cuz idk. But yeah. Since this last change. We actually do have a lotta water falling its dope. Or running lol sorry I realized that after I typed it but its funny I will leave it. Things are coolin tho, Im trying hard with these guys, at least to keep them in the mish. And Nacho actually emailed me last week, hes doing his mission papers.

I dont take many pics but I will start again. And I will try to write in my journal its just at night Ii spend on the phone with these guys. But I am trrying lol. Sorry Ik now I gotta be better.

Hey mom,

Dont exactly know where to start but to sum it all up I am now in Cojutepeque 2. This place is wayyyy dope. Go look it up. Its like this bustling little city, reminds me a lot of Florence. But most of our investigators live just in the jungle outside of town. Its way cool we have to hike out to them, and buses are rare and hard to catch. But we have to be in by 730 now cuz I am a trainer so its hard but buses usually arent a problem. We had a wack primary situation tho. First day here and I get tolf we got some baptisms this week. One is an 8 year old girl, family members. So Im like cool not our job. But we get asked to fill the font. So we head over and fill it in the morning, go to the baptism at 4 and no bishopric shows up. Bishops wife is there)relief society pres=, both counslers wives )primary presidency= but no bishophric, no assigned talks, nada. And my comp is a greenie so he has no idea whats going on. Anyways I had to direct the whole thing it was kinda crazy and I was lost. But I used dads lil paper ripping cross example and just kinda went. Coolin. Then the next day we had a baptism. I met this guy William my first day here, wedensday. And he had a fecha for Saturday. Long story short he asks me to baptize him. We split the ward-area-house with the ZLs and they had 2 other baptisms and they were ancient investigators. So like 10 missionaries came to the baptism is was so cool. a Triple baptism and a buncha missionary buds were there for it. Other than that pretty cool week. My comp is very new, its super weird training lol but he has a crazy life story. hes chapin and a funny litttle guy. I like him. 23 years old. Sounds like your week was nuts like always. Yall really preppin to go to Africa huh? thats way dope I am jelly. April right? Cant believe hamster is that close. And that I only have 17 months left. I mean its a fat lot but still. What am I forgetting??

Hey sorry today is wack, this ciber sucks and my district is full of nosy dudes that just like talking and asking for pics. So sorry oits kinda stressfull lol. but yeH we are having fun. And its hard cuz my comp doesnt remeber any old investigators and his first comp di dnothing at all so theres struggles but its going good we have fun. Hows the ward doing? I miss those people kinda sometimes lol. Wards here are very different, it would be a very different experience growing up here. its way cool tho, a lot of kids need it more than back home. ANything I can do for yall? Sorry my emails suck, I try its just always a rush and stuff and ahhh sorry

dk its just stressful cuz the time limit and its like theres always family I never email. Like I know Grandma and Grandpa are mad, I think theres cousins I never responded too like idk its stress lol. Cuz I love getting emails like most weeks its just you dad harper and maybe ben morgan or saimon. But then I get a flood. And now with the way things are I have no time to type at home so people dont get emailed I feel  bad. And yeah my comp likes working, hes just very fresh and doesnt know anything. Love his testimonies tho, and we do practices a lot. I make him bus contact haha. Hes getting there, and I am learnming a lot too. The ward is crazy lol. Rachel cant graduatre if she didnt go... jk dont tell anyone I said that. Sounds like the wards out there reppin. Still no news about missions or anything? Jimmy or anyone?? Week of January 21, 2019

Dear mama,

Yeah dont even know where to start. I got told I will be training this next transfer which means I am leaving Las Canas. Which is just hard. I had a family of 6, I had 2 old guys that changed their life, 2 bolos that stopped drinking and got jobs, all ready for baptism. And I am not even gonna train, I just gotta go finish someones training. So theres mixed emotions. But I realize now, Im just more of a seed planter. Im trusting God will put the misionarys here that these people need to close the deal. But the baptism this week was way awesome. Made it all worth it honestly. And we dont fill the pila with buckets on our heads but that is a good idea. And I have carried sstuff through the streets for people on my head, the old ladies sell corn and stuff, beasts. We always use a cafe its cool here, pretty fast. Canker sores havent been an issue but I dont wanna jynx it. Had 5 at church this week, our main family had to travel. But no its all gucci. I am not gonna be in this area so I dont even know how I will transfe the guitar strings but I will figure it out, Thanks for buying them! Also I got brandons package and its awesome!! All the stupid missionaries like rammed me and took toys but I have given some out to kids and they love them. Its sad to see him all sick tho...But Im glad ysll are ballin. I dont believe those kids actually wanted to sing in solos tho...

Well not really training, just finishing a training but yeah. I think its just cuz a lotta trainers went home so I am going to go fill that gap or whatever. And yeah I am never gonna be a farmer, I love working out in the sun all day like for this time of my life its fun. But if I cant machete farm like they do here, it aint for me. And yeah the chapel is way nice. We have only had normal showers I think 4 times this transfer. Maybe. And yeah, the family we baptized is awesome. The mom is a stud and the daughter maybe a future missonary. So we will see. Las Cañas has got some goods in the works. Send the vids tho. And no way. I dont believe it. REBECCA?????

Epic. I like it. Thats a word I need to find in Spoanish. We are breaking the piñata tonight. pics to come dont worry haha. ANd yeah, I am excited for Clove to finally get to shine, and take initiative and run the show like I know he can. I am excited to be in a new area where they eat garobo and theres a different kind of spanish. And most of all I am excited to meet the people that God has prepped for me to meet, especially my comp cuz I know this isnt random. God knows what hes doin.

Im not gonna lie this was a rough week but its ok, we are feelin good. A people died this week, which threw me off quite a bit. An investigator, a kid who told me all his life goals the last time I saw him and who would always ask for pics of Harper. He was crazy haha but it was sad to see him go. Our ward mission leaders mom too. Patricia was sick so we could only meet with her once this week which was sad. Our baptism for yesterday got postponed for lady problems. It was just not exactly the easiest week in the feild. But I am doing good, dont worry. Im not supposed to share like discouraging things w family so the fact I am sharing this shows we doin alright. TThere was a lotta really cool things too, met some way cool people and heard some crazy stories. I like to think I will have some good ones when I come back haha. But I hope your week went awesome, I love your updates. Even if I forget to respond to every question or thing I read it all and love it all and try my best to respond as much as possible. I love you mom, thanks for your love andn support even when I wasnt the easiest kid to deal with. Also for a few more questions to answer, We have it every other and its just us 2. \usually our ward has 4 but we dont. And the ward we share the building with is the APs and ZLs and Sister Leaders. Crazy but good stuff haha. Our ward cant help much tho cuz people live in different areas and cant cross but the ones that can are awesome! our goal is at least 2 or 3 member present lessons daily. I had no idea dad got a jersey haha send a pic!! I miss yall, and \i email saimon like a lot actually, hes prolly the only one besides ben that actually emails me. Now thats the juice we were talking about haha thanks for the updates. I feel like there is so much to know. I love the shirt tho haha, you gotta get one too. I bought yall a special gift in a lil town called suchitoto. Ima send it home next week. Hopefully it wont break. That and ur christmas present lol. Looks like the primary war wil never end, but thats what makes it fun right? I will send some sick pics of me w some kids. I always think of you. We brought a lil guy to church and his mom couldnt come and his older siblings werent much help so this lil 6 year old was flippin his lid. But it worked out. And yeah Patty might be slippin a lil but we workin.

As far as the death goes, its gonna be ok. Its tough but its all in Gods plan and faith gets us through it all verdad?

Week of January 7, 2019

Dear mother,

Another week down. Time flies when youre balling out I guess right_ bad news off the bat is that Andy is basically out. His mom is just awful. And I hate saying that but yeah. But a bird flew in and pooped on Elder Stokers shoulder during the lesson so that was dope. I will be honest, I was homesick once. It was when I started quoting Chicken Little, which is bad cuz disney stuff is banned. As are rubiks cubes. There is an all out war on those right now. This week was actually amazing tho, I usually dont name drop investigators but with this lady I will. Christmas eve, well christmas day here, there was a lady walking with a bag of stuff, so I run up and ask if I can carry it for her. We end up giving her a pamphlet and inviting her to church. Her name is Patricia and well she came to church, asked if her kids could come the next week and was just loving it. We go and teach her and she has a million queestions about the folleto and everything, and her daughter has been using familysearch for a while. She told us she prayed to God to find the road for her family and that she believes we are Gods answer. Her daughter is even more positive than she is. and they both came to church this past week. BUT, the daughter is leaving to Italy on the 27th and has no place to stay. She is going to track down the family they have there, family she found on familysearch. She has a cousin who bought her plane ticket but she is looking for a place to stay. Dont worry we didnt promise anything but I wanted to ask on the DL if you had any ideas. All of this trip was planned before she even met us, the whole thing is just kinda crazy and we think she will be baptized in 2 weeks, right before she goes. But just wanted to see what you thought, these people are like legit, not like the scrubs or high schoolers who ask me to get them visas, or who are heading to the states without a plan. They are like future Relief Society pres type people. Not quite primary pres material tho. But anyways lmk what you think. I am gonna find some missionaries in Italy and see what we can do.

Thanks for the update tho, its dope thT noah neihaus is working at my spot, funny kid. Sounds like yall are just grinding tho, hopws the weather for you? You like kolashampan at all tho? Its funny  you mentioned the goolds and wunderlis tho, I was gonna write them this week. I got the christmas card. What else?

From Tanner to Trevor:

I had a good week. 6 investigators at church, 3 with fechas and 2 that we are pretty positive about. This week was just good. Things went well cuz even at one point we found a family of 6 and they all promised to baptism, didnt come to church tho so idk. Its been goin gucci tho, Clove and I are flowin now. I have a lot of drunk friends that are coming along too. One even sold me an S-SHOCK for $2. Its a watch, high quality. There was a lot of dissapointment like always, we are having to drop some people which is hard. I hate that man. We got some people to stop drinking coffee, a chick to keep the law of chastity, and a 75 year old man to stop paying for prostitutes bc in his own words, he was losing strength and always got robbed anyways. That guy is actually prolly in our top 5 right now. People are just lazy tho man, but the sadest is that people dont know what they believe, they just know they believe in something. Sometimes theyre willing to die for whatever it is they believe in, but most the time, they dont even know what it is they are fighting for. Theres your deep Elder Moulton doctrine right there, as one family here calls it. They just say that cuz I changed a scripture to include Familia Martinez in the bible dictionary definition of Dia de Reposo.

The tempe thing is crazy. We dont like ever get to go. Cuz we have a zone goal but we never hit it. We might this month tho, got a few baptisms in the works. New years was a normal work day, good for contacting, lots of fireworks, just coolin. How was yours?

No stoker and I just had a crazy interchange this week./ We go on interchanges once a week, and for some reason it was just nuts.

Patricias daughter is going there to find their family. They are descended from a guy and have a buncha paperwork and she is going to try and find them. She has a place for a while w her fam but if she ends up finding her roots and stuff she wants to stay and go to school there.

But yeah president has been layin down a buncha rules, we cant eat w sisters, cant come home early for school, and all the other stuff, its coolin tho, we dont have any issues with it.

but yeah we do have a fun time, CLove and I are doing great. We have our issues but there was even a few nights we stayed up in bed just talking, which isnt exactly good, but we are tight now. And yeah we dot cuz our district is like the only non secretary one in the zone so we are never around  the latinos. Its coolin tho. 

I eat the regular stuff but its gross. We have peanut butter at walmart tho so I eat fine. And members every night. And  pupusrias.
